Herbs

For centuries people have been making use of plant properties for the healing of all kinds of ailments and injuries.

Plants and particularly herbs, contain a large number of naturally occurring chemicals (constituents) that have some type of biological activity.

The herbal part of a remedy may come from the leaf, flower, stem, seed, root, fruit or bark of the plant and it may be used to treat wounds and a range of other conditions.

In recent times, the use of herbs to treat many health issues in our horses and other animals has become more and more popular.

At BTB we stock a range of medicinal herbs as well as concentrates for practitioners needing ingredients for making the bases for their herbal treatments.

BTB owner Anna Blackburn, uses herbal alternatives to modern medicine herself and shares her knowledge through the Bathurst Tack Box
